Experience Naples

Naples is most famous for its native pizza cuisine and historic Christian paintings by famous Italian artists such as Raphael, Bellini, and Caravaggio. Getting from Naples to Rome is easy, and there are many direct trains Naples to Rome leaving from Napoli Centrale which complete the journey in just over 1 hour. Take the bus from Naples to Rome for a more relaxed journey, with Eurolines offering trips for as little as 9 euros. We recommend staying near the Piazza Plebiscito for its luxurious accommodation and safe neighborhood. A complete tour of the city’s artistic offerings can be completed in 3-4 days.

For a day trip out of the city, take the Naples to Pompeii train to see the ancient Roman ruins left after Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 BCE. The area is now a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site with daily tours explaining the art, daily customs, and trade infrastructure of ancient Pompeii.

Rome Art Tour

A visit to Italy wouldn’t be complete without a couple of days exploring the nation’s capital of Rome. Notable architectural sights to visit in the eternal city include the Colosseum, Pantheon, Roman Forum, and the Trevi Fountain. St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City is also a prominent artistic destination, featuring Michelangelo’s intricate Sistine Chapel fresco. The best place to stay when visiting Rome is the historic center, where you will be within close walking distance to many cathedrals, museums, restaurants, and sprawling piazzas.

Many tourists choose to make Rome their base camp from which to explore other Italian art cities. For instance, trains from Rome to Florence pass through Rome Termini regularly during a 1.5 hour journey costing as little as 10 euros. Getting from Rome to Florence by bus is just as easy if not slightly longer, passing slowly through the Tuscan countryside during a 3.5 hour ride.

Florence Sites

Florence is one of the most popular Italian art cities due to its cultural significance as the birthplace of the Renaissance movement. Many artists called this city their home, including Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Dante Alighieri whose work you can visit stress-free with buying the comprehensive Firenze Museum Card. Due to Florence’s small size, you can easily explore this city in 2-3 days.

Taking a bus to Venice from Florence is simple and takes around 3 hours, passing through the city of Bologna en route. There are also many fast train connections passing through Florence around the country. Choosing accommodation near to the Santa Maria Novella train station gives you fast access to get from Florence to Venice by train, as well as being closely situated to the Florence duomo.

Explore Venice

Heralded for its romantic canals, Venice is the perfect place to explore Italian art at its finest. Here you can view painted works by Italian painters Bellini, Titian, and Vittore Carpaccio. The Venice Museum pass will get you access to all of the city’s museums, excluding the clock tower, Palazzo Fortuny, and the Doge Palace. Many visitors choose to stay near to St Mark’s piazza, as it is the most central point in Venice from which to explore museums and grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants.

The best way to get from Florence to Venice is by train, with many connections offered daily to connect you in as little as 2 hours. You can book your train from Venezia Santa Lucia Station online before with Wanderio to leave you more time to explore Venice’s unique architectural beauty.
