Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into well-defined and scoped functionality
• Implement new functionality, improve existing infrastructure

Requirements

• Strong CS fundamentals gained through Bachelor degree in CS or equivalent industry experience
• Experience using a dynamic programming language in a production environment
• Ability to work in areas outside of their usual comfort zone and get things done quickly

Desirable

• Experience using Ruby on Rails in a production environment
• Experience using an MVC framework
• Experience using NoSQL data stores (MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
• Personal projects that show and aptitude for back-end engineering
• Proficiency using HTML5 / CSS3 (SASS) / Javascript (jQuery) / AJAX in a production environment

• Help make UI and UX decisions
• Prototype experimental features
• Build reusable CSS/JS frameworks to simplify development

Requirements

• Exceptional proficiency using HTML5 / CSS3 (SASS) / Javascript (jQuery) / AJAX in a production environment
• Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
• Personal projects that show and aptitude for front-end engineering and product design sense

Desirable

• Experience using an MVC framework in a production environment particularly with Ruby on Rails
