Warri is one of the hubs of petroleum related businesses in the southern Nigeria. It is a commercial city in Delta State, Nigeria, with a population of over 311,970 people according to the national population census figures for 2006. The city is one of cosmopolitan cities in southern Nigeria comprising mainly Itsekiris, Urhobo and Ijaws. Warri is predominantly Christian, as is most of Southern Nigeria. The city is known nationwide for its unique Pidgin English.
