Baoding is a city of Hebei province, bordering the national capital Beijing, which lies 140 kilometres to the northeast. The population of Baoding City, which has an area of 22,185 square kilometres, is 11,194,379, out of which 1,028,000 reside in the urban districts which comprise an area of 365 km2. Baoding is among 13 Chinese cities with a population of over 10 million, ranking seventh.
